Narrative Text : The Ugly Duckling

A narrative text is a text which tells us about story (fiction/non-fiction/folktale/fable/myth/epic). It consists of conflicts which are ended with resolution. The purpose of a narrative text is entertain the readers.

Okay, since the purpose is to entertain, let's skip the structure etc. because once again, that's not the purpose of a narrative text. Straight to the story, this is my favorite and I hope you are entertained!

Once upon time, a mother duck sat on her eggs. She felt tired of sitting on them. She just wished the eggs would break out.

Several days later, she got her wish. The eggs cracked and some cute little ducklings appeared. "Peep, peep" the little ducklings cried. "Quack, quack" their mother greeted in return.

"Quack, quack" their mother greeted in return. However the largest egg had not cracked. The mother duck sat on it for several days. Finally, it cracked and a huge ugly duckling waddled out. The mother duck looked at him in surprise. He was so big and very gray. He didn't look like the others at all. He was like a turkeyWhen the mother duck brought the children to the pond for their first swimming lesson. The huge grey duckling splashed and paddled about just as nicely as the other ducklings did. "That is not a turkey chick. He is my very own son and quite handsome" the mother said proudlyHowever, the other animals didn't agree. They hissed and made fun of him day by day. Even his own sisters and brothers were very unkind. "You are very ugly" they quacked. The little poor duckling was very unhappy. "I wish I looked like them" he thought to himself. One day, the ugly duckling run away and hid in the bushes. The sad duckling lived alone through the cold and snow winter. Finally the spring flowers began to bloom. While he was swimming in the pond, he saw three large white swans swimming toward him. "Oh, dear. these beautiful birds will laugh and peck me too" he said to himself. But the swans did not attack him. Instead, they swam around him and stroked him with their bills. As the ugly duckling bent his neck to speak to them, he saw his reflection in the water. He could not believe his eyes. "I am not an ugly duckling but a beautiful swam" he exclaimed.

He was very happy. From that day on, he swam and played with his new friends and was happier than he had never been.

Okay, I was late. I was running in a hurry when I saw my friends who had been joining LKO were gathering in front of XII acceleration’s class. I stopped running then I asked them.”What are you doing?”. They answered quickly. “We’re filling the biotesti! Don’t you have to fill it too?! Come on, join us!”. I was not sure and said I was sorry because I had a class today. I ran straight to XII-6 class. I knocked the door and was surprised everyone was already there. I saw my friend, pet was talking to our teacher. She turned her gaze to me and said “Come with me, we’ve got our teacher’s permission.”. I didn’t know what had happened before so, I followed her to XII acceleration.
            08.30 a.m
My LKO tasks were done, such as biotesti, journal, resume, etc. I went to Bali Sports Fields to do sport. My friends said this time we would play, I was excited.
            11.30 a.m
I was tired. Sweat was covering my body. It was pretty sunny and hot. I had drunk a whole 600ml water. It was time to change clothes into complete PSAS. I felt that my bag was pretty heavy so I asked Nadhira to carry my clothes, in order to help me. She was agree because she would go home after this and her bag was not heavy. I thanked to her and said a goodbye. I went to school.
            12.00 a.m
I was forget that I had an economy class. It was stupid of me. Luckily, I had my permission letter in Sasa’s hand. I hoped she was not forget to give it to our seniors. I went to the class. It was empty. I explored the entire school. Finally, I found my friends. I put my bag and ate my food. I was really hungry. After that, I studied economy as usual.
            03.00 p.m
I was running to the old School Ball and I saw one of my senior. She guided us. We saw our friends were closing their eyes. Okay, right when we arrived, the ‘to-be-avoided’ part was happening. We were shouted and ‘evaluated’ they said. I had 4 mistakes. I promised to myself not to make these mistakes happened again.
            04.30 p.m
We were leaded to bazaar and I thought there was nothing to be discussed so I decided to go home.

The Unforgettable Moment

Before my graduation, my class went to JaTim Park. It is located in East Java. Around 6 a.m we gathered in front of my friend's house and we were divided into 3 groups. I was in the group 1, and was the same car with my girls. We did fun activities along the journey. We sang the whole Taylor Swift's 'Red' album. When we arrived, other group had been waiting for us. Then, we bought the ticket and had fun. JaTim Park was in the peak season so it was crowded. We tried every ride! after that, we got home around 8 p.m. I was so happy.
